Corporate Social Responsibility
In SLA, we believe that the climate and biodiversity emergencies are the defining challenges of our times. Therefore environmental and social responsibility and sustainability are at the heart of everything we do. This includes respect for universally recognized principles on human rights, including labor rights, the environment, and anti-corruption.
Equality, sustainability, and diversity are vital parts of the culture at SLA. Whether in our projects where biodiversity is a part of all project’s nature baseline and where we constantly seek that our work benefits humans, animals, plants, and all the world’s living organisms. Or regarding working and employment conditions where talent and skills are the focal points, regardless of gender, ethnic or social origin, religious beliefs, age, sexual orientation, or any other relationship.
SLA is one of the founding signatories of Architects Declare Denmark and a proud member of the United Nations Global Compact.

Our vision
Our vision is to change the world through nature-based design solutions and enhance the quality of life in communities and the public realm.
Our method is continuous scientific research into nature’s processes and a deep understanding of the aesthetics and the design of nature. The goal is to solve today’s hardest urban challenges while at the same time enhancing the quality of life for all people.
We know that nature’s grown environment and the built environment differ from one another – although they are not comparable, they are complementary. Only by creating a balance between the two will our cities become truly sustainable and liveable.
Our mission
Our mission is to deliver world-class and pioneering nature-based design to benefit our clients, end-users, and nature itself.
Nature is the basis for all living. This self-evident – but often forgotten – truth is imperative in a more and more urbanized world. We strive to connect people with nature and make nature and its processes a vital and integrated part of urbanization.
We are nature, and nature is us. Our work benefits humans, animals, plants, and all the world’s living organisms.
Our values
We are a learning and sharing organization, working in interdisciplinary teams to provide holistic solutions to the world’s most pressing problems.
We are continuously evolving and expanding our knowledge about nature’s ecosystem services and its ability to create a good and sustainable future for all.
