SLA appoints Mike Ameko Lippert as Strategy Director

We are happy to share that we have appointed Mike Ameko Lippert for our new position as Strategy Director.

With the appointment of Mike Ameko Lippert, SLA aims to strengthen and expand the studio’s growing services within strategic biodiversity consulting with a specific focus on creating nature-positive strategies for corporations, cities, states, developers, and foundations.

“With Mike Ameko Lippert as our new Strategy Director, we strengthen a key service area in SLA where we have experienced growing demands from our clients and collaborators. Drawing on Mike’s unparalleled experience in working with top management in major corporations and cities, we can expand our services and ensure that nature, biodiversity, and social sustainability will get their natural place at the C-suite level. And thus create tangible and nature-positive change throughout our clients’ entire organizations – from strategy and implementation to design and completed projects,” says SLA partner and CEO Mette Skjold.

SLA and Mike Lippert – together with Aaen Engineering – helped develop PensionDanmark’s new Biodiversity Strategy, 'Investments for Life.' The strategy is Denmark’s most ambitious property development biodiversity strategy, aiming for full compliance with EU Taxonomy and a Nature Positive impact by 2030.

Taking on the new role as Strategy Director in SLA is a natural step for Mike Ameko Lippert, whose professional relationship with SLA spans more than 17 years and stretches from citizens’ engagement and creative development to large-scale strategies and implementations – with PensionDenmark’s ambitious biodiversity strategy as the latest collaboration between Mike Ameko Lippert and SLA.

“There is no more important challenge in our time than turning the biodiversity crisis into positive change for the well-being of the entire planet. And for me, there is no better place to work with that mission than at SLA. I am looking forward to strengthening SLA’s strategic consultancy services and developing the market for nature-positive strategies to help stop biodiversity loss,” says Mike Ameko Lippert, who sees a host of unique values and experiences that SLA can provide strategically to clients.

“With Mike Ameko Lippert as our new Strategy Director, we strengthen a key service area in SLA where we have experienced growing demands from our clients and collaborators.”

— Mette Skjold, Partner & CEO

“In SLA, we facilitate the development of strategies with a focus on nature with a professionalism and an experience like no other consultants or advisors in the Nordics. Our approach to nature-positive strategies is based on the best available science on how to increase, preserve, and protect biodiversity and on deep experience with driving value-based change processes. Our team represents more than 30 years of experience with nature-based design, over 20 years of experience with assessments of biodiversity and ecosystems, and 20 years of experience with facilitating partnerships and involving stakeholders and users, as well as advising cities and states. This is a unique background to create results for our clients by translating the UN Secretary General’s COP 15 call-to-action into credible actions: To step up for nature. Step up for biodiversity. Step up for humanity,” says Mike Ameko Lippert.

Mike Ameko Lippert holds a MA in Modern Culture and Cultural Communications and has for the past 20 years worked with strategies, city branding, and exhibitions with a strong focus on biodiversity and climate action. Before joining SLA, Mike Ameko Lippert worked as an independent advisor in AMEKO (since 2010), was co-founder of andel (2016-2022), and co-founder of 2+1 Ideas Agency (2002-2010).
