SLA welcomes royal guests in Bjørvika

Yesterday, we welcomed the Danish King and Queen and the Norwegian Queen and Crown Prince Couple to the neighborhood of Bjørvika in central Oslo.

Showing the royal guests around Oslo’s new public harbor spaces, SLA Partner and Design Director Louise Fiil Hansen explained the principles behind SLA’s ongoing design and planning work to transform Oslo’s former industrial harbor into a bustling, green, and livable mixed-use neighborhood.

Having worked on the area since 2005, SLA has realized nine of Bjørvika’s central public spaces as “allmenninger” (commons) – with yet more parks and spaces to come in the coming years.

Learn more about our public realm masterplan and urban spaces in Bjørvika here.

Our clients and partners for the projects include Bjørvika Infrastruktur, Bjørvika Utvikling, Oslo S Utvikling, and Stor-Oslo Eiendom.
