Internship with SLA
— fall 2024

We are looking for talented students with green ambitions who want to be part of everyday life at our studios in Copenhagen and Aarhus during the fall of 2024. The internship concerns architecture, urban planning, urban design, and landscape architecture students.

An internship with SLA allows you to gain practical experience working with different scales and phases in innovative projects both internationally and in the Nordic countries. We make sure to tailor your internship according to your skills, ambitions, and goals. Former interns have worked on projects such as the Copenhill Rooftop Park, the Middle East’s first urban biodiversity park, transformation and climate adaptation of Gellerup New Nature Park, as well as projects and competitions in Europe, the Middle East, and North America.

As an intern, you will work alongside dedicated colleagues holding many different skills and qualifications. We promise you a vibrant and varied everyday life in a creative and informal environment. During the internship, one of our project architects will be assigned to follow the projects you are working on. You will also participate in construction site visits and meetings with our clients and collaborators whenever possible. We appreciate an informal tone and have a workplace culture with room to take the initiative, ask questions, and become wiser in the process.

Your educational background – and expectations for you

We expect that you are studying to become an architect, urban planner, urban designer, or landscape architect at the Royal Danish Academy, AARCH, KU, AAU, AHO, NMBU, NTNU, or at similar institutions – and that you have completed your bachelor’s degree or are in the process of doing so. We cannot offer you an internship if you have already graduated with your master’s degree.

You are also very welcome to apply for an internship as a foreign resident candidate.

It is essential that you:

— Are creative and good at visualizing thoughts and ideas – either by hand, on the screen, or in the model room.
— Are a quick learner and thrive in working independently.
— Are trained in the Adobe package, AutoCad, and 3D programs, especially Rhino.
— Are accommodating and curious.
— Have strong English proficiency.
— Have a green beating heart. An interest in city nature is a big plus.

Working hours and conditions

Working hours are 37 hours per week, and the internship has a duration from Monday, August 19th, 2024 until January 31st, 2025. You will be part of our lunch scheme and various social events, and will have access to fruit, tea, and freshly ground coffee in our kitchens.

How do you apply for the internship?

To apply, send us your motivated application, CV, and portfolio as PDF to hr@sla.dk, with the subject field clearly indicating which of our offices you want an internship in. (Subject: ‘Internship Aarhus/Copenhagen’). A portfolio is not required if you study urban planning or similar.
