Preservation

In conservation projects SLA develops and implements site-specific strategies. The aim of renovation is to strengthen the identity of an area. For us conservation is about understanding and developing the memory of the city as a process that never stands still. SLA regards conservation as an important source of development that forms an integral part of our understanding of the city.

We keep us updated and contribute to international discussions on conservation, memory and urban development, and integrate this knowledge into our projects.

Some of the services SLA offers in this connection are:

  • Development of site-specific strategies for conservation and renovation of e.g. historical sites, suburban development, harbour and industrial areas, restoration of nature and urban squares.

  • Research, presentations and publications that contribute to the debate about what conservation and identity is.

  • Project management and time management

  • Programming

  • Planning and design

  • Evaluation and assessment
