Visions for the Station Center of the Future |

The new structure plan of Greve offers the possibility of experimenting with new types of complex built-up areas, but not depending on a specific typolo-gy. Flexcibility is a priority in the light of current and future market fluctuations, changes of trends and climatic changes. |

We have to settle with the parallel functions seperated by buffer zones and introduce a new spatial order. Flexible matrixes where many different programmes unite in a symbiotic network with infrastructure and new sustainable building, which makes the suburb adaptable as regards constant changing environmental, cultural, social and economical parametres.
The programs have to be mutual dependent of one another, but with a spaciality of each own. |

The center of the suburb often contains several potentials, which can be analysed through physical and culture-historical registration. It is among other things about analysing what already works, and develop existing life. A new view on the interaction between people and surroundings.

Users meet across age and nationality. Swimming baths, beech trees, fire-bellied toads, footbridges and car dealers are interacting so closely that the buffer zones are replaced with crossing possibilities. The surface can change from i.e. forest floor to asphalt to water. Or the climate can change from for instance windy to shelter, or from hot to humid, to cool, depending on whether it is planted, has a concrete surface, or is filled with aqueous vapour. On the way around the future station center you will get strong and surprising sensuous experiences, and you will feel as an active part of your surroundings. |

You will meet and cross each other's roads in shared spaces. Shared spaces is a type of urban space, a community space where all road-users and people making a pause become aware of each other and therefore respect one another. This means increased safety, less accidents and more security for everybody, on their way though the block, on the paths, on a cafe, in an urban space, out shopping, on the parking space, under the house, on the platform. Places shaped to appeal to conversation, to being together and to sharing knowledge.
Biotopes with light trees contributes to the experience of nature and give the place a more intimate scale for urban life. |
