SLA have prepared a physical development plan and fjord park for the Stigborg quarter in Nørresundby in Aalborg . The area is divided into a series of zones, that each are defined in relation to future uses. In the proposal to the structure plan the zones are differentiated, and they are organised in smaller patches.

The patches are built up according to different programmes and orientated towards the fjord view. Each patch has inbuilt values and own identity. All the parts are woven together to form a quarter, a neighbourhood, that in scale, density and range of functions are tied naturally together with the surroundings.

The fjord park will be a 26,000 m2 (2.6 ha) large public park. The whole area is shaped with a myriad of small changes in level. A varied setting is thus produced with space for both physical activity and local microbiological life and plants such as iris and reeds, and lyme grass in the dunes. Establishment of watchtowers ensure that birdwatchers and ship spotters can actively pursue their hobbies in the fjord park.
