Photo competition at SLA

Award: 1st Prize

Place: Frederiksberg new squares

Photographer: Lene Dammand Lund, managing director

The space is created by the users – he is on stand-by, the girls can glance out over the whole space and everybody can see them. Here is concrete, gray and urban. Scaters and modern city life.

The picture showes an unexpected use of the urban space – and it becomes clear that it is open to a lot of different people.

The picture is awarded the 1st prize because it reveals new aspects of urban life, it points forward. The young man and the girls take the room into possession and redefines it, when they leave it is left passive behind. A temporary stay creates urban life in a relaxed, modern way in a conservative city.

Award: Honourable mention

Place: Colombine Garden, Tivoli

Photographer: Agnete Schimmell Raakjæer, office aid

The picture shows a beautiful garden, romance and ladies discussing the flowers – or the frog they just stepped on. Here is peaceful, idyllic and everything is as expected. The project shows the beautiful and sensuous in a garden without much potential for young people or the future use of public spaces. A kind of reactionary stagnation where the space is independent of the users – they are just visiting. The picture is honoured for portraying this.

Award: Honourable mention

Place: Sdr. Boulevard

Photographer: Martin Søberg, SLA Communication

The beautiful, with an air of castle garden besides the cares and the almost south European, urban process of construction. The picture is honoured for the way it presents the differences in the urban space and the contrast between the green and the urbane.

People, unity and detail were the keyword for the competition. The picture is honoured for presenting all three elements. The girl to the left whose attention has been captured by the sound from the well was empathized as fine detail.
