The office was founded in 1994 as Stig L. Andersson Landscape Architects, and changed the name to SLA A/S in 2004. Stig L. Andersson is owner and Creative Director, Lene Dammand Lund is the Managing Director and Hanne Bruun Møller Associate Partner. SLA has since its foundation won numerous competitions on landscape and urban design in Denmark and abroad.

SLA A/S is a member of Danske Arkitektvirksomheder, and renders it consulting services in accordance with the conventions and rules outlined by Danske Arkitektvirksomheder.

Design philosophy

SLA’s approach is founded on a philosophy, which seeks to optimize cross-professional and trans-disciplinary collaboration. Through our projects, SLA seek to combine unique artistic vision with democratic processes involving users and clients, in an effort to provide solutions that reflect a scientific understanding of how physics, geography, climate and resources interact with the human experience of space

Consultancy liability insurance is with TRYG insurance.

Sum insured per year:
12,5 million DKK for personal injury and 2,5 million DKK for other insurance events.
Insurance is valid up to 5 years after closure of the firm.

Quality Guarantee

SLA 's guarantee of quality is in accordance with the Quality Guarantee Handbook for SLA , revised in June 2005.
The office's own internal guarantee of quality follows BPS's formula.

For each project an adapted version of the Quality Guarantee Handbook is prepared.

Digital Infrastructure

SLA has a fully equipped network of CAD work stations for all planners.

SLA uses software such as AutoCAD vers. 2005/2008, Land4 with layer-and color control after IBB and Quicksurf 5.1 for modelling the ground and geophysical calculation.

For word processing we use Word 2007 and Excel 2007. For databases we use FileMaker Pro 8.5, Fotostation Pro 5, and for presentation and for digital image processing we use Photoshop CS4, Illustrator CS4, InDesign CS4, digtital photographing, video and video editing equipment, and PowerPoint 2007.
