About Cities - SLA, Selected Works 2008-2013
The city is a complex entity. Complex system’s ability to survive is dependant upon their ability to adapt. They work efficiently and are yet always on the edge of collapse, of chaos. Their operation allows small collapses to occur constantly – and therefore prevents large. Biological systems such as ecosystems and nervous systems works in the exact same way.
In 'About Cities' you get an insight into how SLA retrieves knowledge from nature and bring this thinking into urban planning.
