Dialogue is an integrated part of SLA’s work, as we primarily deal with public spaces. The users are local experts. It is essential that this expert knowledge is incorporated when we define the programme, i.e. which functions and dreams that need to be fulfilled in a given place.
In our urban development projects we work very closely with consumers, municipal officers and politicians, which offers qualifications and ownership for the development to all parties.
In 2004 SLA lead a development project, with the aim of uncovering an often overheard group in the urban development process: performers of sports outside of the traditional clubs and societies. This is an expanding group, and the project was a qualitative investigation of their needs in urban spaces. The knowledge we gained during this project is being incorporated in our projects, while SLA continuously develop new methods for making dialogue with different users of the city. |
