An open square in front of a bank does not necessarily have to be anonymous and deserted. SEB Bank and Pension’s new headquarter located at the port of Copenhagen will be a green and welcoming urban space for both the employees of the bank as well as the citizens of the city. Here you will be met with nature, wind and weather.

The urban space will comprise a large open foyer placed on top of a multi storey car park. The area will be built up like a vigorous Swedish mountain side with a rise in the ground from street level to second floor level. Steps and sloping surfaces create a connection between the urban space and the different levels of the two office buildings and provide space for seating and staying..

The planting composed of trees, grasses, ferns and moss emphasizes together with water mist the sensation of a damp and lush Swedish nature. This creates a surprising scenery of nature in the middle of Copenhagen, which will be fully accessible to the public, and will become one of the squares of the city.
