Location: Carlsberg | Our City Client: Carlsberg Properties

| At Ottilia Jacobsens Square you’ll experience the three states of water. But never in the same way twice. Each time different from the next. Abstract and real. As iceberg, as water mirror and as steam - when the temperature allows it. As rain, as torrential rain, as drizzle or showers. In the paving patterns, in the choice of materials, in colours, in spatial composition and in the lighting both construction processes and the architectural expression is sustained by the idea of the liquid, the fixed and the gaseous in a dynamic process. Continuous changes in state the same way the area always has changed its character and expression. |

The city space’s surface is in situ cast concrete in a light, sandy and granular concrete. The water flows slowly from the iceberg to the drains, and both the stream, the wind upon the water’s surface and people playing in the water creates one ornamented image after another. The iceberg is fabricated in steel and is surface treated with a pliable synthetic material. The iceberg is coloured purely white which makes the city space light up like chalk, brought up from Carlsberg’s underground. |
