Arena Park Lund |
Location: Lund, Sweden
| The Arena Park is a new recreational area in the historical university town of Lund. The park contains both new attractive residences and lots of activities, which encourage movement, sports and play. The large rampart made of excess soil used to frame the sports arena’s green football fields towards the south. Now, through a remodelling of the rampart and the terrain, a varied hilly landscape will be created, where organized and self-organized sports may be enjoyed side by side.

Arena Park Lund will be pleasurable to the residents of the new houses as to every other citizen in Lund. Large, circular and horizontal fields are situated between the green hills, providing space for physical activities in many different ways. One field is reserved for football games, one for multi-sports, while a smaller circle invites you to a game of basketball. |

A dark, asphalt-paved path curves through the park and makes it easy to bike, roller skate, or to make chalk drawing and play hopscotch. Furthermore a densely planted area with bridges and wooden huts brings you into eye-level with the treetops. Thereby, the park is even a large playground to be used by the area’s many kindergartens. A more urban atmosphere characterizes the park’s two major entrances. Here, one finds small coloured rubber-mountains, which are easily climbed. |
