Copenhagen’s future is intensely debated. High rises, urban life, the central so-called “Metropolis Zone”, cheap housing, traffic, road pricing, climate, cyclists, and much more. Now SLA enters the discussion. With a proposal of moving Tivoli, Copenhagen’s world famous amusement park, to Ørestad, Copenhagen’s latest development area, in order to transform the Metropolis Zone into a new METROPOLIS PARK.

Global warming is a hot subject matter.

Instead of focusing on high rises and energy management, road pricing and C02 taxing, SLA with the Metropolis Park suggests focusing on the production of biomass, effective C02 breakdown, clean air and citizen wellbeing. Following these premises Copenhagen has a unique chance of being first with a development strategy that improves the climate.

By moving Tivoli to Ørestad a large amount of people will easier find parking space, discover this new urban development and populate it. Ørestad will receive a world famous tourist attraction and the empty space in the middle of Copenhagen’s city centre becomes available as new and lively park.

The Metropolis Park is full of all kinds of trees, all of them participating in the C02 breakdown. Not only will it improve the climate of the area, but also give the many people passing though a mega wood of scenting trees and clean air, birds and animals, health and physical challenges.
